@josh0@babka.social @jaz@toot.wales not just "as long as they can follow you" — as long they have an account on any instance where someone follows you they can scape every public/unlisted post that has ever federated there without ever following or interacting with you

@zvava@bbs.619.hu @jaz@toot.wales ah, yes. Good clarification! Everyone should really just behave as though everything they post on Mastodon is public. I don’t particularly view this as a problem, basically don’t say anything on here that you wouldn’t say in a busy restaurant; it’s unlikely that someone will hear something you say to your tablemate(s), but it’s mostly decorum providing you with any sort of privacy. Unfortunately, it seems that many people don’t understand that what you do in public is, well, public, even IRL.
