While #DoctorWho is up for an exciting year, I'm concerned Trek is disconcertingly dying right as it seemed to be reaching a point of renaissance. Like Marvel, it's prioritizing 45yo straight white dude-nerds nostalgia, over engaging kids or any other audience, and while I love #StarTrekSNW, it just ain't the future anymore than watching uncle ben die for the 28,000th time is.

@yerald@social.coop The fact that Prodigy is the only show appropriate for anyone under the age of 13 (SNW has a few really violent episodes, though most are OK) is frankly galling to me. I grew up on this show! Make it for the new generation!

@yerald@social.coop This is why I turn to fan content. Some of it misses, but when a fan film captures the spirit of Trek, it captures it entirely.
