There are a lot of up- and down-sides to living someplace ruralish (my town has 4500 people). We have no food delivery. The town is asleep by 9 pm. All our street parking is free. I know everyone who works in my town's government. It's easy to get elected to do stuff if you want to. You have to make your own fun. On the brightest side, I was able to go into my public library and the new Murderbot was on the shelf! Exciting! #vermont

  • @jessamyn@glammr.us this reminds me of the new #D20 show "City Council of Darkness" on #dropout.tv which is all about vampires trying to take over a small town where everything is only open during the day :p I wonder if it would remind you of your town

@jessamyn@glammr.us Meanwhile, I'm 25th in the queue at my library system for the new Murderbot.

@jessamyn@glammr.us Ooops! I've lost track of how many Murderbots I've read. I need to see if I need the latest, or the next-to-latest next. Thanks for the reminder

  • @jessamyn@glammr.us Out here on Salishaan Island, our village likewise has about 4500 people, and it feels like we live some place utterly isolated from the city down by the bay (8 km away from us). We have three pubs that close up at 22:00. Used to have five pubs. Drinking then walking home is always an option. (and we have a wonderful public library, too!)
