Cheese Paper has taken up a significant portion of my free time for the past year and a half (oops) This wasn't a solo project. Special thanks to @evening@alico.nexus, who made significant contributions to the codebase directly (more than 100 commits!), and helped a lot with early rust design, Cheese Paper would not be as complete or nice without her help

@brie@do.crimes.brie.gay I'm deep into obsidian already and have bent it into a near-perfect shape for me along the road of several projects and hundreds of notes, but I like the look of this enough that I'm going to give it a try anyway

@brie@do.crimes.brie.gay Ooh, this is actually rather nice. I notice that a .git directory is created in a new project. Does this mean you've got version control already integrated? I currently use #Typora to edit my fiction, and good old fashioned Makefiles to assemble and publish it,; but I could be converted. I'll need to play with this some more!

What does Cheese Paper do different from other similar projects? Scrivener: Less features, better handling of sync, files you can edit on their own Manuskript: Live syncing, less plotting features, simpler format Obsidian: Notes and text in the same document, more writing focused

@brie@do.crimes.brie.gay interesting! I mostly write tech docs but I'll check this out. I tried a few note taking apps (e.g. Logseq) and had the same friction you describe going from structure and notes to actual content, and I'm mostly writing Markdown so your approach might be a good fit
