@digitalfox@yip.vulpine.engineer And then ppl constantly complain to me that I never answer my chats :neofoxgooglywoozy: (I'm a fox. I do what I want, when I want!) Or like it was at work… slack messages… busy (not) destroying a server… after 5 minutes the phone rings "Hey, have you seen that message?" gunshot noises

  • @keeya@icy.arcticfluff.eu Well, yeah, getting others to understand your policy is the hard part. :fox_laugh_sweat: …especially at work. Sometimes it's a Teams message then a call, or a Teams call to ask if I can stop by a coworker's cubicle/office when I have a moment.. like.. a message would've been a much less disruptive way to ask x3 (To be fair many coworkers are retiring soon, it's likely a difference in what feels comfortable)

  • @keeya@icy.arcticfluff.eu @digitalfox@yip.vulpine.engineer Thank you! Fuck! That needed to be said. I hate how we have moved to this immense peer pressure of needing to be reachable 24/7, of having to reply the instant we read (or even better receive) a message. I have gotten to the point where I like fast internet at home, but where I wish back to not having (cheap) mobile. Being offline is a bliss. I do switch to airplane mode often when going outside and only resurface once home. I take "me"-time when I want, for how long I want.
