@Lunaphied@provably.online oh I meant to expand on the details here but Shelfgate happened.
most of the drawers in the Really Useful tower are dedicated to specific things like resistors, electrolytic caps, connectors, etc. but if I did that with everything I'd have two dozen mostly empty drawers. so I have the big SMT Parts drawer at the bottom. inside I have a bunch of large antistatic bags labelled with categories. this kind of simple hierarchical organisation is absolutely magic for finding stuff.

@Lunaphied@provably.online for connectors I just went with through hole / SMD / power / misc as separate drawer categories cos I couldn't think of anything better. I have a lot of connectors so four drawers (3 medium 1 small) was a justifiable allocation. misc is mostly panel mount and wire mount, but also stuff like test clips.
