In the past I've done a little bit of this on a surface pro 7, but it's not a great experience. I put a paper texture screen protector on, and that just made it tolerable

For the moment, i got my surface pro out, and it's as okay as it ever was. XP Pen has an actual tablet and I'm considering that. I just wish it had a dial. And that it was like 1 inch bigger. But being it's own dedicated appliance has a ton of appeal I dunno, we'll see how much I stick with it

@jenniferplusplus@hachyderm.io A Fujitsu Life book T-series might be a good fit and they can be had second hand (I don't think they're made anymore) for around that price Edit: I saw that you meant more peripheral and not like, a surface pro with better Linux support... Wacom one? Wacom in general is kind of the standard for a reason and they're well supported under Linux.

@jenniferplusplus@hachyderm.io I can confirm this works okay -- and you can use it with the combo 3-in-1 box or cable to work with most anything, or use other wacom pens with it: https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/1920366-REG/wacom_dtc141w0_one_14_creative_pen.html I like the movink even more, but it's out of your price range. These do need a computer to hook to though.
