Anything is better than nothing, but the size differential is tremendous, and apple has a long and storied history of disregarding their external developers.
If you really want to make them feel it - port your software to another OS, don't put it in the apple mac app store, or get it into the alt stores on ios. Stop using apple proprietary software and APIs. Stop letting them profit off your labor.
Apple needs to realize that their success rests on the happiness and goodwill of both their devs and users, and we're deeply unhappy right now.
As a user - I've decided on a moratorium. No new apple hardware or software. At all. The only money they're getting is applecare subs, and that's on thin ice. As my hardware ages away from usability - I'll swap to linux. It's not as good - but the baggage is less weighty. The hope is they "wake up" before I get too comfortable elsewhere. We'll see.
(I did the same long ago with microsoft and meta and twitter and the rest of the gang of idiots. Hasn't helped. Needs critical mass.)

@tbortels@infosec.exchange I deeply respect but do not share this opinion. I believe my greatest mechanism for influence is to make trouble.
