@filmfreak75@mastodon.social I think a lot of them don't realize. I think we pay a lot more attention to all that stuff, spot the patterns they don't even know they're following. But yes, demand--breaking those patterns can make them very uncomfortable. I've had no end of quiet fun since I decided at work to *not* return greeting inquiries.
"Hi, how are you?" "Hi." Sometimes they just pause for a moment, unsure. Sometimes they carry on as if you'd said what they expected you to say. That's fun, because then you know they don't care at all and aren't even paying attention to your response to their question. "Hey, how are you?" "Hi." "Good, good." @autistics@fedigroups.social

@ZenHeathen@beige.party i’ve worked in enough environments (law) where it is absolutely intentional to keep power and control also a series and of passive aggressive narcissists at the helm @autistics@fedigroups.social
