If the war budget was turned into funds for actually enriching the lives of citizens for even one year? If billionaires were taxed at a reasonable rate? There would still be racists who were angry that “undeserving people” also benefited but they would be drowned out by everyone else . This is both the thing that keeps me going and the most depressing thing in the world to me. How, in this moment, is this not *so* painfully obvious to an overwhelming majority of people in the US?

@griotspeak@soc.mod-12.com Broadly, I think there is a failure of imagination. The easiest solutions are prompted by the existing systems. [cf. A. Lorde] “We can fix it”. The aim to return to a prior, storied, status quo would simply return us to the prior faults and injustices. People need to examine the wreck, embrace what they most need from it, and use that to build something better. The Legos need to be disassembled completely to create a new art.
