No telemetry, no analytics Kiro doesn’t phone home. No usage stats, no crash reports, no opt-in dialogs hidden in defaults. Your install is yours. The fact that this needs to be said for a Linux distro.

Kiro ships with Claude pre-installed and ready to wire up — AI assistance built into the distro, not a side-quest. Same Anthropic model that built the install. Not for me

arco was shut down last year because… The reasoning behind this move, as shared by Erik, is his advancing age and him realizing that he doesn’t have the same level of mental focus or stamina he used to have before. Honestly, don’t use hobby distros unless it’s just for testing purposes. They will fail you in the end, always. That being said, if you want to check out another hobby distro, PikaOS is pretty fucking cool: wiki.pika-os.com
