@metaning@mastodon.social every country in the world is currently holding a bunch of US dollars. Reserve currency, Petro dollar trading, even just paying off bonds. So on some level, most of the world is involved in at least maintaining some of that value for a while. It's not exactly the same as reconstruction, but we're not exactly going through a post-war reconstruction. It's kind of a big currency rebalancing that needs to happen. Because everyone is so exposed to the US currency in all of its forms, it's going to be a complex renegotiation. It's not going to be a big money dump to help her rebuild, it's going to be these little tweaks everywhere to maintain solvency.
