  @TheGreatLlama@kolektiva.social agree that that check was in the mail, but I think there was a time somewhere in the mid Biden era where a change in strategy could still have moved the needle. They launched the inflation reduction act, which was really a beginning for a green new deal packed into a forward-looking bill. There was some notion that energy was important for the future and that America needed to be part of the trend to make that happen. Then it kind of died, people wanted their pre-covid life back. And that really felt like the last nail to me. Then it didn't matter if Trump or Harris won. What people wanted wasn't a better 2030, they wanted 2017 back. 🤷🏻‍♂️
