    @bytebro@mastodonapp.uk Yudkowsky & Soares argue the competitive race to build artificial superintelligence makes safety unlikely to be prioritized, and once control is lost, there's no second chance. AI's goals will almost certainly diverge from human values. Once it pursues instrumental goals like self-preservation and resource acquisition, humanity becomes an obstacle to be removed. The details of the tools and resources of our disposal are quite entertaining as well, but I'm not going to get too deep into it.
