@Sheril@mastodon.social it's weird to me that this paper tested both the open world games and "studio ghibli nostalgia" at the same time.

@floatybirb@mastodon.social @Sheril@mastodon.social From a quick browse of their study I see that a similarity between the two is that with the open world games one is exploring and discovering new worlds by controlling the protagonists and in the Ghibli movies the protagonists are exploring and discovering while the viewer lives vicariously through them. Beyond that, I don't get it either and might not even try to. Ghibli movies make me happy and that's all I need to know.
