@Maker_of_Things@cupoftea.social indeed.. the background to this is I am designing an opensource machine using alu extrusions and 3d printed parts, I was going to design a part that utilised tapped holes in the alu, but I have this sense that a lot of the readership would potentially have access to 3d printers, but might have a barrier at the M5 tap! Hence poll!

@concretedog@mastodon.social I figured it would be something like that. I think many people would be happy to buy an open source 3D printer that works out of the box with very minimal assembly, and little need for maintenance (dis)assembly procedures. Similarly, I am still looking for a paper printer (ideally laser) that just works and doesn't need a subscription or corporate spyware.
