Collecting seeds from your garden in the fall. Taking cuttings from plants you already have. Swapping plants with other gardeners.
Bartering! I once wanted a particular hosta that was out of my price range. Another gardener offered to give me one of hers if I dug up a new flower bed for her. Saved me $75!!
