@Cat_LeFey@pagan.plus Oh that would be such a cool experience! We went on a lantern cave tour at Mammoth Cave and it was amazing. It’s several hours long and I can understand why people panic and get lost near the mouth of caves. I think most people (including me) are not used to being in proper darkness anymore. The cave in our neighborhood is closed to the public because someone stole dynamite from a roadworks crew and hid it in the cave. That’s the legend anyway, also it’s at the back of an Elementary school so people were worried kids would wander off which is probably more likely.

    @napalousa@pagan.plus ha, modern folklore in the making! I could see future generations calling it Hidden Dynamite Cave or something, lol. That's a good point about "proper darkness," I remember whdn I moved out to this rural area and the first few power outages were super creepy. It was the silence that got to me the most, I didn't realize how accustomed I was to the constant buzzing of humans and machines. I'd get like 5 feet into that cave and turn right around, nope!
