Saw a comment today that said essentially, #StarTrek is canceling #StarTrekDiscovery and #StarTrekProdigy, the only two shows exploring new ideas in the Star Trek Universe, making Trek into another franchise running on nostalgia, running on fumes, and I couldn&#39;t agree more.

While #DoctorWho is up for an exciting year, I'm concerned Trek is disconcertingly dying right as it seemed to be reaching a point of renaissance. Like Marvel, it's prioritizing 45yo straight white dude-nerds nostalgia, over engaging kids or any other audience, and while I love #StarTrekSNW, it just ain't the future anymore than watching uncle ben die for the 28,000th time is. #StarTrek #Discovery #Prodigy #DISCO #StrangeNewWorlds

@yerald@social.coop I think Paramount might be done with Star Trek, they've kept the ones worth more universal appeal, but I won't be surprised when they're cancelled at the end of their current runs.
