@User47@vmst.io You misunderstood me. Columbine is native to Europe, it sows itself and covers the hole garden if I do not tear them our where I want to plant something else.
We have here the problem with foreign decorative Juniper. Unlike the native variety, it serves as an intermediate host for pear rust, and all pear trees become infected.

@Irisfreundin@troet.cafe ah ha! I didn’t know there was a European columbine. The Juniper you reference I assume is our Juniperus Virginiana / Eastern Red Cedar? It’s native here but evolved with fire which we have artificially suppressed so it can get out of hand.
