  Uh oh. Seems the vmstio instance is going to shut down shortly. Two weeks to pack up shop and find a new home. I’d rather not end up on one of the big ones because I dig the “slow” local timeline and niche collection of folks. But maybe there is stability there?

  I read a whole thing last night on Reddit about how #Missouri hunters are mad at our conservation department over mandatory CWD sampling. Our state has done an EXCELLENT job with chronic wasting disease tracking and education. But I guess some nutjobs still exist.   A guy gave me numbers “YTD” which were way too high. So I clarified and he rephrased as “grand total YTD.” With the added context I understand he’s trying to convey a cumulative multiyear number. So I’m good. Someone should explain to him YTD/year to date means current year. Not my responsibility. God speed, fella. PS: If you ever catch me doing some silliness like this, please call me out.

  This past weekend @Jillianmarisa and I went to a native plant sale and the place was a ZOO. Unlike any prior years and those were crazy too. I guess it’s a good thing that so many folks are interested in growing native.   Honestly quite surprised at how little press the upcoming medicaid cliff is getting. Like, republicans included DEEP cuts to Medicaid in their big dumb bill. But set them to go live AFTER the midterm election. How is this not on billboards and commercials? Medicaid, FWIW, is huge in Red States.

  Years ago, Apple added a feature where you could ask Siri to remind you of things when you arrive at a location. I have been using it to “remind me of so-and-so when I get home” a lot lately. I have to wonder how many other super convenient or helpful things are available to me that I don’t use or have forgotten about.

  Here's a fun #DisOldHouse update: We've been without a functioning kitchen since we moved here mid-renovation last July. WELL. Today the cabinetry gets delivered. FINALLY. And I just ordered the appliances. Wondering if it's possible we can be 100% by 6/1? I sure hope so. Countertops, flooring, electric finishing, backsplash, oh my!

  Huh, learning every day! I've long known about the hack where when dialing a number on a mobile, you can use commas for pauses and auto entry. But today I learned about semicolon which is a game changer. For iPhone (and I'd hope everything else) if you use ; it allows you to enter the extension, whatever when you are ready vs having to guess at timing. I have lots of numbers programmed into my phone with two or three commas in a row to get the delay just right. ; will be so much easi...

  Something I’ve learned in the corporate world is biz bros HAAATE when their industry is subject to “commoditization.” That’s their buzz for ‘waahhhh, our competitors are competing / any differentiation or advantage we had is gone, so we can’t overcharge anymore’ ANYWAY.
