@shezza_t@mastodon.ie @InTheseHeels@mastodon.ie I thought the challenge with eels is we've never actually observed them breeding, and the sargasso sea is the best we know about where at least some go to breed. For years nobody had a clue (iirc the ancient Greeks thought they manifested out of the ground or something). My grandfather's PhD was on the migration of eels, though was in Polish
