@shezza_t@mastodon.ie @InTheseHeels@mastodon.ie I thought the challenge with eels is we've never actually observed them breeding, and the sargasso sea is the best we know about where at least some go to breed. For years nobody had a clue (iirc the ancient Greeks thought they manifested out of the ground or something).
My grandfather's PhD was on the migration of eels, though was in Polish

@sldrant@mastodon.social @shezza_t@mastodon.ie theres not as much information out there as I thought there would be on Sargasso. I guess its one of the last places that we will.ever understand. We know more about space than that sea!
