I spent most of my free time over the last several days writing a pokemon book for my kid, starring my kid. He&#39;s super into pokemon, and so we got him a bunch of old scholastic pokemon chapter books. He really likes when we read them, but they&#39;re still a little too advanced for him to read on his own. So I wanted to give him something smaller and easier. Plus, he gets to be the hero. Anyway, I&#39;ve repeatedly thought about Sam Altman claiming he would be unable to parent his child without chatgpt. What a pathetic loser. At best.

You can steal my plot, if you want to. It goes like this: I take him to a wild zone I let him go exploring on his own He meets a wooper that's running away from something He tries to help it Ash shows up, and wants to fight him about it Ash figures out kiddo is not the one causing problems They go off together to find out who is Surprise, it's team rocket They battle team rocket together Then they take wooper to a pokemon center Kiddo and Ash have a battle for fun Wooper chooses to stay with kiddo

@jenniferplusplus@hachyderm.io love love that you’re doing that for your kid! It can mean so much. My godmother used to make up stories starring me that she told me before bed. She connected them into one long-running saga spanning a couple of years but each part was episodic, sometimes inspired by things we did that day, other times based on whatever cartoons or books I was into at the time. She’d then make these drawings of me in the stories, and even though she had no actual technical skill in drawing I remember how charming the doodles were. Anyway I still remember that decades later and think back so fondly. I appreciated the extra effort.
