@GrantMeStrength@hachyderm.io @DosFox@tech.lgbt I used to work in the building with the Purple Cray. I remember coming in on a Saturday when the Cray was idle, and playing with the Mandlebrot viewer as the sole user on the machine.

@GrantMeStrength@hachyderm.io @DosFox@tech.lgbt I also recall finding the Cray maintenance contract in the printer tray. It was $30,000 a *month*. In late 1980's dollars. And god knows what the electric bill for that beast was. Let alone the two full-time Apple sysadmins to look after it.
