  I think I just found a 40 year old Easter egg. I was looking into the Levco Monster Mac, which is an upgrade board for the original Macintosh 128k/512k which adds up to 2mb of ram as well as SCSI. An interesting feature is that this upgrade doesn't necessarily require Macintosh plus ROMs to work (most expansion cards do, as the original ROMs only work with 512k of ram, and don't have SCSI support).   So a Macintosh plus clone can run system 1 through to system 7.5.5 A minimig running shapeshifter can run system 7 up to system 8.1 A Wii running WiiMac can theoretically do Mac OS X 10.0 to 10.4 Then an intel hackintosh can run 10.4+ So we just need a stop gap PowerPC system for system 8.1 up to 9.2.2, to complete the timeline of not Macintoshes that can run Mac OS 😅

  My JLCPCB order arrived! Look at this lovely slab of FR4! It's the #OSHintosh, an open source hardware 68000 Macintosh. On a nice and cheap two layer PCB!

  So, elevator pitch. A Macintosh SE/30 based macintosh design, incorporating parts from the #OSHintosh (such as integrating the Sony SND replacements and a SCHWIM), which also does away with some parts (I.E, only four RAM slots - likely those el cheapo dual sockets that you can still buy, as well as removing the FPU, then using a rominator ii to ignore the FPU on start up) All done on a four layer board, but using entirely through hole parts.

  Turns out the shitty Amiga can work with those really cheapo HDMI to VGA adapters! It's also putting out a signal that the tiny CRT can support as well

  After poking it a bit more, my colour classic is once back in the land of the living. The CUDA failed to fire up again. After a bit of poking it seems that cap juice had managed to take out another pin 😑. Cleaned it again with vinegar, and patched it *again*. Hopefully that's enough.

  Finally got around to checking the external 800k floppy drive I picked up a while ago. Noticed the drive was nice and clean inside. ...except the previous owner had clearly tried to clean the floppy drive head and managed to damage the upper head 😑

  I am slightly obsessed with this. It's the sort of thing I wouldn't mind on a mug or a t-shirt 😅 As most people know, Apple owned a Cray for a relatively unsuccessful first stab at their own processor design.   Also you know how I built a terrible Amiga, which in turn became the world's worst Macintosh ii? Well I turned it into a PCB! But I also added an ADB converter and Macintosh RS232 Serial interface! It's still terrible, but according to JLCPCB it's 50p per board, and I can run the Atari ST core, the Mac Plus core, or I could actually use it as an Amiga if I really wanted to! https://github.com/DosFox1/Migatosh
