@TimWardCam@c.im I think the key is to ask: "call on what"? Then I would search through the reference of $what to see what I can call on it and learn the name of the thing I'm looking for. Sounds easy enough? 🤔

@mre@mastodon.social I ask Google "how do I ...", then I look at the Stack Exchange (or whatever) examples, then, having discovered the method names or the pattern or whatever, I now know what to look up in the documentation to find out how to do it properly. Bizarrely, and inefficiently, some of the folklore as to how stuff *really* works, as opposed to how it's *documented* to work, only seems to be available on long-winded YouTube videos!
