In the last podcast episode of this season, we talk to @orhun@fosstodon.org from @jetbrains about building developer tools for Rust! We touch on many subjects: - How JetBrains has their own representation of Rust code (multiple layers, in fact). - Where JetBrains uses Rust in their IDEs and where they stick to Kotlin. - And much more! Here's the full episode: https://corrode.dev/podcast/s06e09-jetbrains/ Recorded live in Düsseldorf! Thanks to everyone for listening to Rust in Production...

Hey if anyone finds the time, I’d be thankful for any feedback on this new blog post. It’s about making Rust programs more robust for real world scenarios. https://corrode.dev/blog/hardening-rust/ I hope it’s okay that the post is quite long. There is a table of contents in case you’d like to scan the post first. What I’m looking for: - Is this type of content helpful? - Anything else I forgot or should link to? - Any related topics you’d like to read about? Thanks! #rustlang #rust

In the latest episode of Rust in Production, we talk to members of the Rust Foundation leadership and board about what the Foundation does, how it relates to the Rust Project, and why that distinction matters for teams using Rust professionally. We cover a lot of ground, including infrastructure, security, interop, maintainer support, governance, corporate membership, and open-source funding. Here's the post I wish I had when I first started programming. If you know someone just beginning to code (especially students), maybe pass this along? Would've saved me a lot of head-scratching and "why didn't anyone tell me this earlier?" moments. https://endler.dev/2025/best-programmers/ #development #blogpost

New podcast episode. Thrilled to finally share this one! Jon Gjengset and I talked about Helsing and what it looks like to use Rust in environments where correctness is non-negotiable, from edge networking with CRDTs to type system design trade-offs that only become clear after years of production use. Jon also had some candid thoughts about where the Rust community is headed that I think a lot of people will find worth reflecting on. Here's the link: https://corrode.dev/podcast/s06e0...

New blog post! https://corrode.dev/blog/bugs-rust-wont-catch/ In which I talk about non-obvious bugs Rust won’t prevent. Kinda went a bit viral already. It’s on HN and Reddit right now in case your looking for additional discussion. #rustlang #rust

We'll be back for season 6 of Rust in Production tomorrow! Have an amazing roster lined up. https://corrode.dev/podcast/ #rustlang #rust

Season 6 of Rust in Production is finally here! The first episode features Cloudsmith who *didn't* rewrite their Django monolith in Rust. They just fixed the slow part with Rust extensions and services. The result was a massive speedup, minimal disruption. Not every Rust adoption has to be "loud." Sometimes the quiet wins are the best ones. :) Episode page: https://corrode.dev/podcast/s06e01-cloudsmith/ #rustlang #rust #podcast #rustinproduction
