@mei@donotsta.re same feeling, planning a trip that will take a day to one direction and a day back a week later, and Interrail (with the minimum 4 days of travel) is like 2x cheaper even including some not that cheap reservations.

@mei@donotsta.re Depending on the day and time, I see some single journeys for as low as 15 EUR. But yeah, Deutschlandticket in most cases will be the better option. Just make sure you cancel it on time.

@mei@donotsta.re take into consideration that you can only cancel its subscription until the 10th of each month. So if you were to travel today and in a week you would at least pay Deutschlandticket for May AND June

@mei@donotsta.re just set "means of transport" filter to "EuroCity and intercity trains only", and you'll get connections starting at 10€ (with change in Berlin). Bonus tip: if you're traveling from Poland, you can just buy a through ticket (with the same filter); getting to Magdeburg will then cost you just like 5€ extra compared to getting to Frankfurt. It's just that regional tickets are all only sold with expensive base (flex) fare making them more expensive that saver fares on long-distance trains.
