@jloc0@mastodon.sdf.org The introduction of PulseAudio during 14.2 (IIRC) was sad. That's what got me started on an idea I called "flatline" (no pulse). But I was too dispirited and went back to Debian, which at the time was only just beginning to be eaten by Lennett's PID 1. I bounce around between Debian and FreeBSD a lot, looking at which glass is less half-empty. I sporadically do some work on the ideas outlined at https://slackish.org/ but I'm too easily thrown off of it - free software is most satisfying in communities, and while I'm quite accustomed to solo efforts, all the inspiration and drive for them has to be internal. But just imagine how deeply nice it would be to have a Slackware you could install minimally for a container and then update without a bunch of manual work syncing up the tagfiles and slackpkg blacklists!
