@suearcher@toot.wales I suspect the fizzing is mostly for effect, it makes this home made mixture look like a proper sciencey product. To lift dirt the mix would have to get under it before it started to fizz. Seems unlikely unless the dirt is very loose in which case just wipe it off. I agree bicarb is mildly abrasive, so just mix it with a little water.

@pthane@toot.wales @suearcher@toot.wales I use bicarb with boiling water. Fizzing & the heat also aids with lifting dirt off. With pans I'll leave the bicarb on dry for a bit, then scrub it a little with the bicarb to loosen it, then add boiling water to lift the rest.
