So first, I find that comparison fascinating on so many levels I can't get into. TL;DR it's more valid than is comfortable, which is a good thing!
There's a difference that I see: Stallman's inflexibility has been the butt of jokes for a while, and he sort of joked along with it (in ways not everyone will get).
The problem isn't so much this inflexibility. If you look how the more palatable open source movement has flourished vs. Stallman's free software thing, and then...

@ZDL@mstdn.social ... continue with how much enshittification the open source community condones and supports (TL;DR), a lot of it has to do with compromising on exactly those ideals that Stallman is inflexible on. It's just an unpleasant lesson to learn. But the problem with Stallman isn't *that*, it's as you said, being a sex pest. It's way more damaging that people with the means to remove him from his position choose to be *flexible* and overlook this aspect.
