It’s a sign of how clueless and isolated Westminster politics has become that fucking odious little shite Streeting thinks he’s a vote winner, and the political journalists are losing their minds at the excitement of it all. It’s a pathetic pantomime. Ugh. It’s all so smug and arrogant it’s practically an open invitation to opportunists like Reform.

@aegir@toot.wales it doesn't seem like he has the numbers. Either he's aiming for a top job in the next government (would be a bit odd as he's just given one up), or this is all a terribly inept strategy.

@aegir@toot.wales I can’t stand him. He’s always seemed like a total nobody, and his recent-ish anti-trans position is so obviously opportunistic — he was pro-trans until it became mildly inconvenient for his career. (And basically indistinguishable from Starmer. Who are the people who want Starmer out but would see Streeting as even a tolerable alternative?)
