@Mutesplash@uncontrollablegas.com @siracusa@mastodon.social perl 5.8 to 5.10 was a bigger step than Python 3 and perl has never broken compatibility with nearly as much. Modern Perl (the book) is only about 10yrs old. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Perl_5_version_history
