If you think about it, the fact that soon not just Europe, but the whole world, will be literally on fire is, in fact, a very bright future. #climateChange #climateDisaster #DarkHumor #DarkHumour #Humor #Humour

So, anybody with inside knowledge care to share how much is #Musk paying #Mozilla to reactivate the #Firefox account on #Xitter or if this was a “motu proprio” following the fact that Mozilla, too, have gone full fascists? (Which also explains why they stick with #Mullvad as #VPN?)

The photos of the #Budapest #Pride this year, and the comments about what this may mean in general for #Hungary, protests and the #Orbán regime have made me think again about Adam-00 #webcomics https://comicfury.com/profile.php?username=Adam-00 which are a mix of #scifi and #alternateHistory with subtle and not-so-subtle #socialCommentary and #politicalCommentary 1/n #webcomic #art

One of the things I love about discovering old #webcomics that are still running it seeing how the art changed and improved over the years. It's fascinating. One of the things I hate about discovering old webcomics that are still running is that there are only 24 hours in a day and catching up takes a lot of time.

Apparently #GrrlPower's author Dave Barrack (is he on the Fediverse?) is a fan of #Kill6BillionDemons too #webcomics https://www.grrlpowercomic.com/archives/comic/grrl-power-1206-demon-days-of-whatever-season-it-is/

So, how do we detect #PromptAPI support in #JavaScript? I want my website to display a big fat banner warning when it's available.

I'll probably be less active here today because I'm trying to finish a blog post where I pour all my hate for #Google's decade-long history of attacks to the #openWeb and #indieWeb and it's taking way longer than I expected. EDIT: you can now read it here https://wok.oblomov.eu/tecnologia/google-killing-open-web/ and now I'm going to go over a full day of backlog here on‌ Fedi 8-D

Something I wrote 8 years ago (updated today to add a description) about the several reasons why March 14 is not a good choice for #PiDay. http://wok.oblomov.eu/mathesis/pi-day/ See you on July 22.

I've been using eyeglasses with a thick frame for most of my life. Now I have to look into getting ones with a thin frame just to avoid being confused with any of the assholes wearing spy glasses from‌ #Meta #Facebook or the upcoming one from #appleinc Fuck surveillance capitalism.

This morning while walking to work I had a thought: is it possible that the reason why the perception of the #replyGuy problem being worse on #Mastodon (and the #Fediverse in general) is due to sheer (lack of) numbers? So I came up with a simplified model to check if this was indeed sufficient to explain the phenomenon. Let's assume that, similarly to Mario Cipolla's Basic Laws of Human Stupidity, the fraction of reply guys in a population is a given constant ρ. 1/n #maths

I've had a thought about the whole #Discord thing. One of the reasons why it has become so popular even as a “#forum” thing, despite being *utterly unusable* in that sense, is that is provided single sign-on. Once logged into Discord, you could trivially join any community with zero to no effort. Compare this with the sign-up process in *any* other context and it becomes pretty clear. The only other place that offered a comparable experience was basically reddit, with its own sets of pr...
