@sarajw@front-end.social i don't think any other technology has had that kind of native narrative around it and i think this has only compounded as it became easy to give kids things like cell phones and pawn off parenting onto youtube, etc. and as kids started getting laptops and chromebooks in school

@sarajw@front-end.social and i think another important aspect here is that computers are highly complex general purpose devices, whereas something like a phone or TV is extremely narrow in its uses and interface, so the learning burden is dramatically lower
