For reference, this is just a different presentation of what’s been supported in vanilla GNOME Shell for several releases, now, in the Background Apps menu.

@cassidy@mastodon.blaede.family In an optimal world I'd have the layout with your extension on my 28" desktop, and the other ones on my laptop, tablet and phone. If you're actually using your desktop with WIMP like you're "supposed to", the tray icons can be a very nice addition to that IMHO ... just not on a laptop or anything smaller than that.
