@tamami@sfba.social This one isn't as ghostly as the others.
When I was a teenager, my grandpa died. He had been on a trip to Greece and Crete, and died sitting down on a tour of the Acropolis. This was the middle of the night for where I was in California.
The night he died, I dreamed that he came to my room, and rubbed my back like he did when I was sick when I was little. I told him he couldn't be here because he was on vacation. He said he just wanted to say goodbye and that if I ever needed him, to just ask for him and he would take care of me.
I woke up to mom crying and shaking me awake. "Dad's here" she said. I was confused. I was even more confused when dad was in the house (my parent's divorced when I was toddler, and dad had never set foot in mom's house again until this moment). And then it clicked. The dream came screaming back. I knew what dad was gonna say.
I really think grandpa came back to say goodbye to me. I didn't cry at his funeral, I knew I was gonna be okay.

@somcak@beige.party Yeah, you got that genes too, I guess. I had a similar dream when my dad passed, and I was at peace about his death because of that dream.
