@tamami@sfba.social When my half sister was little, in the 1990s, she had a Teddy Ruxpin, you know, the teddy bear with a tape player in it's belly that would move it's mouth and wave it's arms when the player was playing. Except my half-sister's Teddy Ruxpin would talk and move on it's own.
So one night, when she was supposed to be asleep in bed, dad heard voices coming from her room late, like 10 or 11 pm. So he went to tell her to go to sleep, but saw she was having a conversation with Teddy. Dad told her to stop but she said "Adam doesn't want to sleep." Who's Adam, that was her name for Teddy. Teddy spoke up "I'm not going to sleep." Teddy had no tape or batteries in him.
Dad took Teddy away and Teddy kept playing and talking. Dad sunk Teddy in a 5-gallon bucket of paint and drove out to the desert to leave Teddy. Who knows what happened to Teddy.
Before destroying and ditching Teddy, they'd had a bunch of weird stuff go down at their house, spices would be moved around, lights going on in the middle of the night, just random shit that they couldn't explain. After removing Teddy that stuff stopped.

@somcak@beige.party That is... Stephen King level scary. I hope Adam never comes back!
