Oui c'est ce que je me dis aussi. Cet outil doit avoir une utilité. Les autres ont des bâtons de marche. Est-ce que ce serait pour transporter du foin ? Pour choper les vaches par les cornes et les guider ?

One definitely does not want to hook an animal by the horns because then it has both a stick and horns to beat you with. I would say it is a churn of sorts though why you would want to carry one up the hill with you makes no sense, maybe they are near the dairy and he just happened to have it. Could it be for a beacon? It is hard to tell what it is made of.
