Clavicular, the modern prometheus should be a thing.
I know he's a "redpilled" idiot, but I keep thinking about him. A 20 year old boy harming himself irreparably in a grail-like hopeless attempt to feel loved, or worthy of love.
I want to argue that without a male gender norm telling him he has to endure pain and isolation on his own, that he is his own fault, the idea of taking combos of meth, opioids and steroids and hitting your face with a hammer - they would never even exist to him.

I further think that as a feminist that the comedy that we ( me included, no judgement) find in his pain is a sign that for for men, we have yet to inspect, criticize and work towards ending gender roles and their oppressions. He is a boy showing, glorifying, and dramatizing his own self-harm. Had he NOT been a boy we would have seen that this is a cry for help. But since he is, we find his failures amusing. His pain a source of enjoyment. A boy yearns to be loved.
