I further think that as a feminist that the comedy that we ( me included, no judgement) find in his pain is a sign that for for men, we have yet to inspect, criticize and work towards ending gender roles and their oppressions.
He is a boy showing, glorifying, and dramatizing his own self-harm. Had he NOT been a boy we would have seen that this is a cry for help. But since he is, we find his failures amusing. His pain a source of enjoyment.
A boy yearns to be loved.

And considering his position as an influencer - all I can think is that a prison break isn't as much about freeing prisoners as it is liberating the guards. I'm a feminist because I want to free men. A republican because I want the royal family to be free. A socialist because I want the upper class to enjoy life in reality and joy. A queer anarchist because I want straight folks to enjoy liberty.
