@cockneylaurie@mastodonapp.uk It's OK, and I'm sorry if I appeared to be short with you. I've become increasingly intolerant of an attitude in the FOSS world that real-world user experiences just don't matter. I'm absolutely not saying that you're like that at all, but it's made me oversensitive to hearing 'it works for me' :)

@flup@mastodon.scot I didn't take it as such - sorry if it sounded bad, but also have to say it's tricky to compare a system that costs a lot and which the design crew constantly want to change for change sake (like removing the "Start" button on one version of windows till the outcry got them to put it back, or deciding you will get feature ...., on by default - whether you want it on not) to something that folk provide for free.
