@dank@jorts.horse Except that's the wrong May Day. In the UK (and afaik most of mainland Europe), May 1st being a holiday is older than the USA, let alone Chicago. It's just not tied to the labour movement, it's more about the seasons. Old roots in pre-Christian and Roman cultures 😉

@theadhocracy@indieweb.social how is it the wrong May Day when it's a different May Day? i am clearly not stating that something with roots BCE was invented in a city that didn't exist until 1700+ years later.
