Painted this after a visit to Stockhill Wood on the Mendips. My son and I used to go there a lot at one time and I miss that now.
I like the sunlight coming through the trees there, and in the plantation part the trees are in straight lines (I assume for mechanical harvesting later) and you get some lovely views. At the top end there is some traditional woodland that’s more organic so it’s a good place for walks.
