I don&#39;t know where those behind the &quot;thin scrollbar&quot; trend got their computing education, but they need to go back there and do the HCI course again. Then they need to spend at least a week using glasses that distort their eyesight while they work, so they can learn what people with vision challenges experience while trying to use what they built. Same for the &quot;small text&quot; trend. And the &quot;it doesn&#39;t matter how much you zoom or unzoom this page nothing changes&quot; trend. #accessibility #inclusion

@tokyo_0@mas.to I installed debian trixie with XFCE on an RPi 4 recently. Yesterday I finally got round to fixing the fading in and scrollbars behaviour introduced around the time that gtk3 came in. I had already zapped the counter-intuitive scrolling default that gtk3 foisted upon the world.

@tokyo_0@mas.to I agree that small scrollbars are a problem, but I'd say that "grey scrollbars on a grey background" aren't good either. (and outside of scrollbars, Thunderbird's dark mode keeps white textboxes for the "to" and "subject" fields, and for the "to" one has the text in white - so white on white, very great readability !)

@tokyo_0@mas.to I also miss interfaces where you clicked anywhere on the scrollbar below the current-location-marker and it took you down *one screenful*. I *can* see the uses too of it taking you to a point in the document proportional to where you are in the scrollbar, but I wish they'd retained *some* way to just go up/down a single screenful at a time.
