FYI: the Astrovials canary was modified in some concerning ways, probably best to not trust them any more.

@q@glauca.space you’re the 2nd person today who’s ignoring the canary version from December, which had lines truncated in a way which suggests they’re copying this from a terminal and it just didn’t fit the screen… the new version seems to be cut off to the last visible sentence user error / hotfix?

  • @q@glauca.space phanpy is not only a well featured masto-api client, it is also very well usable with just keyboard (it's missing a few niche operations for only the keyboard, but honestly i'm really great)

@q@glauca.space For screen reader users, the changes (to Astrovials' canary text) are as follows: In the first paragraph, deleted: "I do not collect user traffic logs and have never been compelled to do so by any third party. I have not disclosed any information of my users, and I have not been forced to modify my website to allow access or data leakage to a third party of any kind." The date in the next paragraph, as of which no warrants have been served, is updated from 2025-10-30 to 2026-05-06, but this sentence is deleted: "I have no direct or indirect knowledge of any backdoors, or potential backdoors in my servers or network and I have not received any requests to implement one." "Domain moved" is changed to "Domain and certificates moved" (referring to a domain change in 2024). Next canary due date is updated from December 2025 to August 2026. The full remaining text is as follows: "Astrovials Warrant Canary, May 6th, 2026. I, Rose, confirm that I am alive, and free, and that I have full control of astrovials.com. I have never willingly disclosed any user data or provided any access to user traffic to any third party. As of 2026-05-06 no warrants have ever been served to Astrovials or me. No searches or seizures of any kind have ever been performed on Astrovials assets. Domain and certificate moved from astrovials.co to astrovials.com on January 14th, 2024 Next canary is due August, 2026."

@ChaosKitsune@woem.men @q@glauca.space Between those versions the canary was also somewhat borked and the lines were cut off (with a > char) So not sure if it means anything or not, but from the nature of a canary both changes should be seen as a bad omen. Lets hope for the best!

@q@glauca.space on top of that: they missed the canary in april. prev canary was due april, however it only got posted in may. making it more suspicious imo. the edits are concering, but.. not the biggest part. signature checks out fine tho
