I notice myself personally being antsy, but worrying like other ppl are in the same spot as me mentally. I’m used to being more intense in my convictions than most people, but I don’t know if that’s true here or not. Additionally, I feel like I’m down for sweeping systemic change but don’t have the spoons to start it myself. I’m here to support as soon as the hat drops, but I don’t feel equipped to start shit. I wonder if others feel similarly or not.

@moss@kind.social I've been ready for years, as I used to say "I cannot make a revolution with my cat and my dog, I'm going to need you all to get up and do something" But alas, as history has shown, humans are lazy creatures, and sadly we can overcome so much, it gets really bad before we've had enough. So I just wait for everyone who called me a radical to start radicalising.

@moss@kind.social it deeply depends on which one, you know? Anarchist scindicalist where we maintain autonomy and set up systems of mutuality etc, sure. Socialist and kind, and not lead by narcissists, sure. Socialist hierarchical and lead primarily by men with guns.... No. There have rarely been good outcomes for women and others when men hold guns, regardless of their stated ideals, and somehow every hierarchy of this kind finds a way to put off actually addressing issues of privilege and power until later. "We'll handle your oppression after mine, thanks very much". Right wing (which seems the most likely). No, of course.

@moss@kind.social cards on the table i have an amount of trepidation for the aftermath. like not even the teething pains (though of course those) but like how much of my current quality of life will i have to sacrifice? i know everyone deserves better, and i'm part of everyone. everyone gets shelter and good food before my skincare and video games and gym clothes come into question. i won't contest that. how quickly can we revolt and implement the necessary changes? when can we all breathe?

@moss@kind.social I've asked myself, if I was somehow alive in the 1770s (I wouldn't be; my mom would have died in childbirth and even if I survived I'd have died of an infection) what would I have really thought of the American Revolution. And the answer is, I'd be really exasperated with these whiners who like tea well enough but hate paying their taxes. I would have basically no agency to express my views or do anything about them though

The person who doesn't hang out with people who aren't wearing a mask, and doesn't go to parties centered around eating and drinking, where all the real decisions get made Seeing the way my local anarchist society goes absolutely ape shit at the idea of including more people with disabilities, made me a lot less hopeful
