@HardBeingGreen@theblower.au @feather1952@aus.social It should be about taking responsibilty for the disposal and recycling of our own waste. Towit: It is a ‘social’ responsibility from the household to the councils and hence a ‘public’ enterprise. No “Private’ enterprise is going to do it unless there is a buck in it, and that #Profit is hard to come by in waste disposal unless you screw someone over doing it. Bet if we stopped pouring public funds into fossil fuel and extracive industries, we’ve have money for publically owned recycling & waste management research and implementation in this country — never ceded.
