@seachanged@mastodon.social No tear-through failures. I use a layer of birch veneer to cover the moon holes, so it's not an issue. LunaKron shows the current moon phase. You can invert it. It has an orientation guide on the back to help you position it for southern or northern hemisphere. You can even mount it on its small edge - I include a hanger if you want to wall-mount it this way. It does not adjust for room brightness, but it does have a subtle trick to delight when the room is dim: you can see all the phases dimly lit. LunaKron does not track the moon's position in the sky. That would be an interesting feature to add to a future version! Thanks for the questions! Keep them coming! :)

    @DigitalHorology@hachyderm.io Ah, the veneer is the right way to do it, for sure. Does it have a beeper or noise maker, perhaps to alert one to the exact moment of the new or full moon? How does it look when it's waiting for a GPS fix, when you first power it up? What does it do when it loses GPS fix? That's about it for me: I'm starting to get silly, with stuff about 2,551,442.9 or Jean Meeus...
